    Ingredion is seeking a highly motivated student to join our Tulsa-based Shared Service Center as a General Accounting Intern during summer 2024. In this position, you will help support the Manager, General Accounting in ensuring the accuracy of general accounting transactions, in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly stated.Support SOX financial control activities and testing for the SSC . Participate in the month end and quarter end closing process as required.

    Key Deliverables

    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure accurate expenditure data is available for the US/Canadian business as required.
    • Prepare and provide financial information for internal/external audits, ensuring information is accurate and timely.
    • Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.
    • Book journal entries as required and ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
    • As needed, complete and submit governmental surveys
    • Maintain daily cash reconciliations and prepare journal entries and reconciliations related to cash.
    • Perform account analysis and other projects as requested by manager.
    • Identify, initiate, and develop system changes with information technology to improve the availability of financial information, minimizing disruption during implementation and creating efficiencies.
    • Ensure Desk Top Procedures (DTP’s) are written and current for all job functions and that they comply with internal control policies.
    • Conduct process reviews to identify improvements to enhance the quality of financial reporting. Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process
    • Develop and maintain relationships with business partners both at SSC and across the company.

    Qualified candidates will have:

    • Progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
    • Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term
    • Proven proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite Software Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ect.)
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills preferred
    • Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day

    • Be currently enrolled in a program seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
