Business Manager, Americas Research

As a Barclays Business Manager, Americas Research, you will have the opportunity to support the Americas Research business by providing business solutions, operational leverage, and controls. With your independent thinking and commercial decision making abilities, you’ll engage broadly with stakeholders at all levels, including the Global Business Management team, the Research business, and functional areas.
Salary / Rate Minimum: 115,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: 140,000

What will you be doing?
• Allocating department resources, business controls, employee experience, and helping to drive a communication and people agenda
• Collaborating with functional areas to improve processes and help manage the business (e.g. Sourcing, CRES, Technology, Compliance)
• Providing administration of approvals, expense management, market data, etc.
• Evaluating processes/procedures with an eye to operational efficiency, and recommending and implementing improvements as needed
• Executing projects identified by Research Management as necessary to meet the department’s strategic priorities
• Undertaking ad hoc requests or new initiatives as they develop while effectively prioritizing deliverables, yet maintaining enough flexibility to meet fast-changing business needs
What we’re looking for:
• Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills as well as excellent numerical background, including advanced Excel
• Independent thinker with the ability to problem solve and to drive and execute deliverables in short time frames and in a challenging and ever changing environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written
• Ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels and geographies of the organization
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience working in Banking or Financial Services, knowledge of the Research business not a requirement, but a plus
• Risk and controls understanding
• Commercial decision making skills
