Lead Java Developer

As a Barclays Lead Java Developer, you will be joining the global team responsible for executing transformational initiatives that help Markets Sales realize aggressive client growth targets. You will be accountable for delivery of technology solutions for trading technology across multiple asset classes. This role interacts with the Markets Sales users in front-office to understand issues/feedback and incorporate the same in developing solutions.

What will you be doing?
• Being responsible for delivering end-to-end technical solutions to meet the required business outcome
• Driving Architecture and design discussions
• Working closely with developers to ensure overall architecture and design principles are clearly understood and delivered
• Collaborating with the global team to implement standards and best practices for software development and ensure compliance to the process
• Collaborating with Business Users, Run-The-Bank, and Release team members, Development Leads and Developers globally
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework
• Improving our engineering expertise, address tech debt, improve coding standards, quality and test practices
What we’re looking for:
• Experience building containerized micro-services as well as deploying and supporting them in a Kubernetes cluster using Docker containers
• Extensive hands-on expertise in Java development (Spring Boot, Maven, JUnit, TeamCity or Jenkins, source code version control (GIT), and issue tracking (JIRA)
• Proficiency with Kafka, Container technologies, and Cloud (AWS) based services in addition to messaging protocols (Experience with Tibco RV, Tibco EMS, Solace, MQ a plus)
• Proficiency in requirements analysis and software design experience investigating production incidents with priority with a view to restore the services quickly
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Financial industry experience, specifically Fixed Income products knowledge (Structuring, Pre-Trade /Post-Trade capture, workflow, processing and associated life-cycling)
• Basic knowledge of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles to collaborate effectively with UI team
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and global teams
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field of study
