Job Summary:
The Assurance Associate, Risk Advisory Services is responsible for partnering with more experienced Risk Advisory Services professionals to provide risk consulting and issues resolution to clients in the areas of IT general computer controls (ITGCs), IT application controls (ITACs), process improvement, pre and post systems implementations, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls compliance, and Internal Audit. In this role, the Associate participates in various stages of internal audits or consulting engagements and provides assistance with planning, field work, engagement wrap up and report composition, along with recommendations to address client risks.
Job Duties:
- Assists with the informational interviews and facilitation of meetings with clients during engagement process
- Obtains information, documents, and data from clients to support the completion of analysis and research of client issues
- Documents, tests, and analyzes the client’s IT processes, risk and controls with guidance and direction from senior Risk Advisory Services professionals
- Develops initial deliverables and/or solutions to client issues
- Utilizes research tools, databases, and trade publications to develop understanding of client’s industry
- Develops relationships with client personnel and Risk Advisory Services professionals
- Assists with the research and drafting of proposals
- Maintains all documentation and work papers associated with client engagements
- Other duties as required
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, required; focus in Accounting, Information Systems, or Computer Science, preferred
Experience:
- Experience within a public accounting firm or Fortunate 1000 company performing internal audit, consulting, or risk services, preferred
- Leadership experience, preferred
License/Certifications:
- CISA, CISSP and/or CPA, preferred
- Actively pursuing completion of CISA and/or CPA licensing, preferred
Software:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word and PowerPoint, required
- Knowledgeable in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technologies such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and Microsoft AX, preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Positive attitude and solution-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically business / report writing
- Strong analytical and basic research skills
- Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
- Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
- Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $70,000 - $85,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $70,000 - $75,000
