    Event Assistant

    As a Barclays Event Assistant, you will have an exciting chance to be in charge of managing, developing, and executing a diverse range of events to the highest standard through excellent organizational skills, innovation, and creativity. You will ensure activity is aligned with business objectives, firm-wide policies and procedures, and marketing/communication strategies. You will be accountable for all aspects of event management on a varying scale of events, often leading a project team comprising other colleagues.

    Salary/ Rate Minimum: $76,000
    Salary/ Rate Maximum: $97,500

We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours).     What will you be doing?

    • Providing project support to the team by demonstrating excellent organizational skills, clear communication, and ability to trouble shoot and find solutions as required
    • Understanding and learning departmental processes and follow these across all activities and consistent data accuracy and attention to detail
    • Helping colleagues with event planning and on-site event assistance including: invitation creation and development and taking on roles within a team
    • Assisting with new vendor set-up and payments, assisting with speaker review and vetting, site searches, and supply management
    • Assisting and supporting with small scale events with oversight from manager or senior colleagues within the team
    • Helping the team team building and morale events for the team and basic knowledge of event planning functions
    • Leading ad-hoc projects on behalf of the team (Workstream areas for function) and building and maintaining effective relationships with preferred suppliers
    • Exhibiting the ability to adhere to policies and ability to take ownership, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines

    What we’re looking for:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Proficient in Microsoft skills (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Industry knowledge and prior experience is an advantage

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Demonstrates confidence, proactive, responsiveness, and enthusiastic behavior
    • Aptitude and ability to navigate different technology systems
    • Team player with the ability to work within a team and effective time management, being able to manage your own time and work volumes
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to guide others

    Where will you be working?

    You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
