    Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee is searching for the next Camp Sycamore Hills director. Located in Ashland City, TN (near Nashville), Camp Sycamore Hills is host to over 750 acres of activities including adventure, aquatics and equestrian programming. The Camp Director/Program Specialist is responsible managing the summer camp program including: managing the staff process; creating programs for 600 - 1200 campers per summer; coordinating with broader teams within GSMIDTN; and being a visible part of the greater Girl Scout community by coordinating a limited amount of outdoor programming during the year. The Camp Director/Program Specialist is someone who takes ownership of the camp experience and builds a community between staff, campers, and families. We’re looking for a director that builds teams, solves problems, is organized and thoughtful, and is motivated to collaborate with others in the camp industry. Experience as camp director in an overnight setting is highly preferred. Girl Scout experience is not required, but is also preferred.

  • Qualifications
    • Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred, related work experience may be substituted for degree.
    • Minimum three years of experience as a Camp Director, preferably with overnight camping.
  • Desired skills
    • Experience managing staff
    • Knowledge of youth programming, with an emphasis in outdoor education or the camping industry
    • Proven ability to plan and organize.
    • Ability to relate well to girl and adult audiences.
    • Honest, strong work ethic, solution oriented and possess a positive attitude.
    • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to work with a variety of people and sensitivity to pluralism issues.
    • Belief in the purpose, values, and mission of Girl Scouts of the USA and the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee.
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
