A Council Trainer supports troop leader development and education so they can support the activities that their girls choose! They do this by conducting specific training events based on a ready-made curriculum. Topics include First Aid/CPR, Outdoor Skills, and Commercial Kitchen training. They prepare the site for training and return materials and supplies to the Council office within five days following the course. This is a part-time position with a varied schedule.

Our trainers believes in the Mission and Vision of Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee and subscribes to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law. We can teach you curriculum, and can provide certifications where needed to ensure your qualifications before you train.
Some Girl Scout or general scouting experience is preferred, as is a background in what you'd be training (CPR/First Aid, Outdoor Skills, or commercial kitchen).
This position is heavy on instruction, and our trainers ideally have a background in teaching, mentoring, or other ways of transferring knowledge to adults in a positive, creative, and enthusiastic manner. We'd like our trainers to be leaders in their community and have the ability to answer questions, and think independently.
