This Job Might Be For You If:

    • You like working with kids and youth leaders! In a camp environment, the ability to work effectively with kids and youth leaders is crucial. As the camp social worker, you'll be responsible, alongside our full camp team, for guiding, mentoring, and creating a positive experience for campers. Your interpersonal skills will shine as you foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere where campers feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring new activities.
    • You are eager to put your social work degree into practice. This job is very hands-on and immersive. From the minute the kids jump off the bus (and even before that during staff training) you’ll have the opportunity to put your knowledge and experience to use by responding to the emotional and social needs of our camp community. We’re looking for someone eager to share your knowledge and jump in from day one to connect with campers and staff, and provide guidance and support to fellow staff members.
    • You are good at setting boundaries! Setting boundaries and sticking to them will help maintain structure and order while handling various responsibilities and model this healthy behavior for campers and staff alike. We’re looking for someone who is able to prioritize effectively to ensure that both campers and staff receive the attention and guidance they need without burning yourself out! This is something we work with all staff on throughout the summer.
    • You enjoy collaborating: We thrive on teamwork and collaboration. We’re looking for someone who is eager to work alongside fellow camp staff to create an enriching experience for campers. Whether it's brainstorming ideas for cabin bonding, coordinating schedules, or addressing challenges, your collaborative mindset will foster an environment where everyone's strengths come together to create a cohesive and exciting program.
    • You have patience! Patience is a virtue in any camp setting and Marimeta is no exception. Camp is often nonstop, and we are looking for someone who can remain composed and understanding, even in potentially challenging and sometimes unexpected situations. Your patience will be invaluable to us as you work with campers of varying personalities, backgrounds, and needs, and model that patience for other staff, too. Your patient approach will help create a camp environment where everyone feels heard and valued, promoting a sense of belonging and trust.
