As the adage goes, “Cash rules everything around me—C.R.E.A.M.” Bank internships place students on the institutional side of this balance, preparing students for a career in investment banking, retail and commercial banking, consumer finance, accounting, or financial services in general. Bank interns have the opportunity to work with some of the most respected institutions in the world and network with established, senior management professionals. Internships in banking provide practical experience in several different formats: some may be built around shadowing programs wherein the student supports a portfolio manager to learn the investment process while others require participants to attend intensive training programs. Bank internships may also funnel students into financial positions at other corporations.
